Any time is a wonderful time in the Scottish Highlands!

The colours are stunning and we have a lot of crystal clear days. Just the time for a break before winter. Come and enjoy our surroundings now!

Here are some facts about the Cairngorms National Park :

The Park covers 3800 sq km, is 40% larger than the Lake District and double the size of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.
4 of Scotland's 5 highest mountains are within the Park and there are 52 summits over 900 metres (munros).
The area has the finest collection of different landforms outside arctic Canada - from granite tors to heavings and leavings from Ice Age glaciers.
The forests of the Cairngorms contain remnants of the Caledonian Pine Forest.
The Cairngorms is the best place for the Scottish Crossbill, the only bird unique to Britain. Golden Eagle, Osprey, Dotterell, Capercailli, and Crested Tit are just a few of the bird species found here.
The Park is home to a wide variety of animals including Pine Marten, Red Squirrel, Badger, Wildcat, Water Vole and Otter.
The rivers are home to a rising population of the globally endangered freshwater Pearl Mussel, as well as Salmon,Trout and rare Lampreys.
CairnGorm Mountain Funicular Railway is the country's highest and fastest mountain railway, with a track that stretches almost 2 kms. The spectacular panoramic views from the terrace of the Ptarmigan Restaurant, is just under the summit of Cairngorm. A trip on a clear day will be one of your most memorable experiences of the area.
